Established in 1992 the Centro Antartide is committed to studying, teaching and communicating environmental and social issues. Run by Università Verde di Bologna APS, we are a research and communication centre that operates at a local, national and international level.
We are mainly experienced on sustainable development and resilience, safe and sustainable mobility, urban policies design, social innovation, civic and stakeholder engagement, active citizenship, community building, commons management, water saving, waste reuse and recycling and health promotion.
As a social enterprise, we operate according to the “permanent education” framework, through different participation and communication tools for different targets and at different levels: we are aware that only though cooperation and partnership, both in deciding and acting, we can achieve the sustainability goals that are more and more urgent every day. Centro Antartide therefore develops models and projects that enable cooperation among institutions, research and education institutes, companies, non-profit entities, citizenship and schools, by devolving integrated work strategies on our core issues.
It is also part of our work analysing different environmental contexts with intersectoral and interdisciplinary approaches, working on changing our cities, empowering their citizens, engaging them in policy- and projects- making and creating urban spaces that enable relations, community well-being and resilience.
Centro Antartide – Università Verde di Bologna APS has a specific curricula on European projects and partnerships that includes Life, Interreg, Grundtwig and Horizon.
